Business Logistics

Also known as: business logistics, logistics management, supply logistics, business logistics management

Business logistics is the planning, coordination, and control of how goods, materials, services, and related information move through a company. It covers activities such as transportation, warehousing, inventory management, order processing, packaging, and distribution. The goal is to make sure the right product reaches the right place, in the right quantity and condition, at the required time while controlling cost.

Business logistics connects the different operational activities that move products from suppliers through the business and ultimately to customers. Good logistics management helps reduce unnecessary transportation, storage, and inventory costs while improving reliability and customer service. It also gives businesses better visibility over stock, deliveries, and supply requirements so they can respond more effectively to changes in demand or disruptions.
