Address Commission (ADCOM)

Address Commission is a fee paid to a broker or intermediary for introducing a charterer, owner, or cargo interest that results in a concluded transaction. It is typically agreed as a percentage of freight, hire, or lump sum and stated in the charter party or fixture recap. The commission compensates the intermediary for providing the business lead rather than for ongoing brokerage services. Payment terms, rate, and entitlement are usually defined contractually and settled alongside other voyage or hire accounts.
