WWWW aggregates several readiness conditions into one expression. The WWWW clause states that a vessel is deemed arrived and ready to load or discharge whether in berth or not, customs cleared or not, in free pratique or not, and in port or not. It is used to prevent administrative, health, or congestion-related delays from postponing laytime and shifts these risks to the charterer. The clause reduces ambiguity in laytime disputes.
