A formal declaration made by a vessel’s master regarding extraordinary events during a voyage.
A Ship’s Protest is typically lodged before a notary or competent authority upon arrival at port. It documents incidents such as heavy weather or accidents to protect the carrier from liability claims. It is often supported by logbook entries and survey reports.
