BATCH

Also known as: batch, batch lot, production batch, processing batch

A group of products, materials, transactions, or data that are processed, manufactured, handled, or transported together as a single unit.

A batch is a collection of similar items that are processed or managed together rather than individually. In manufacturing, a batch may consist of products made during the same production run, while in logistics it can refer to shipments or orders grouped for handling or transportation. Batch processing improves efficiency, reduces operating costs, and simplifies quality control and traceability. If a defect or issue is identified, the entire batch can be tracked, inspected, or recalled more easily.
