Bars

Also known as: bars, door lock bars, door bars, container locking bars, container door bars

Vertical steel locking bars fitted to the doors of a shipping container that engage with locking cams to securely seal the doors, helping maintain a weather-tight closure and protect the cargo during transport.

Container door bars are one of the primary security and sealing components of a shipping container. When the handles are rotated, the bars lock the door at multiple points, creating a tight seal that helps keep out rain, seawater, dust, and unauthorized access. They work together with the door gasket to maintain the container's weather-resistant integrity, although the gasket itself provides the actual watertight seal. Damaged or bent locking bars can prevent the doors from closing properly, increasing the risk of cargo damage, moisture ingress, or security issues.
