Yawl
Also known as: jolly boat, yawl boat
A small boat or sailing vessel, traditionally rigged with a mizzenmast aft of the cockpit.
Yawls are used as ship’s boats or small sailing craft. They are distinguished from ketches by mast placement. The term also historically refers to oar-powered service boats.
