Weather Permitting (WP)
Also known as: wp clause, weather clause
A condition where time lost due to weather does not count as laytime.
Weather Permitting clauses allocate risk of weather delays in charter parties. They protect charterers from delays beyond control. Interpretation depends on contract wording.
