Ship Operator
Also known as: vessel operator, ship manager
The party responsible for the commercial and/or technical management of a vessel.
A ship operator may be the owner or a contracted management company. Responsibilities include crewing, maintenance, compliance, and voyage execution. The operator is distinct from the charterer unless operating under bareboat terms.
