Damages for Detention (DAMFORDET)
Also known as: Damages for detention, Laycan penalty, Cargo readiness penalty
A penalty payable when cargo is not ready for loading upon vessel arrival within laycan.
DAMFORDET applies only when cargo is not available at the agreed time and is distinct from detention for delayed vessel operations. If cargo is ready on arrival, no DAMFORDET is payable.
