COT (COT)
Also known as: customer own transport, carrier off terminal
A condition where the customer arranges transport of the container to and from the terminal or depot.
Under COT, the customer is responsible for inland transport movements. The container must still be returned to the agreed terminal or depot. This arrangement shifts operational responsibility to the customer.
