Constructive Total Loss (CTL)
Also known as: ctl loss, constructive loss
A situation where the cost of recovering or repairing goods exceeds their insured value.
In a Constructive Total Loss, the cargo is not completely destroyed but is deemed uneconomical to recover. The insured may abandon the goods and claim the full insured value.
