Bull Rings
Also known as: bull ring, bull rings, lashing rings, cargo rings, tie-down rings
Heavy-duty metal rings permanently fitted to a vessel deck, truck or trailer bed, railcar, container floor, or other cargo-carrying surface. They serve as strong attachment points for chains, wire ropes, straps, or other securing equipment used to hold cargo in position during transportation. Bull rings are particularly useful when securing heavy, oversized, or irregularly shaped cargo that cannot rely on standard container securing methods.
Bull rings are part of a cargo securing system and help prevent cargo from sliding, shifting, tipping, or becoming loose while in transit. Lashings are connected between the cargo and the bull rings to restrain movement caused by vessel motion, braking, acceleration, turns, or vibration. Their strength, location, and the securing equipment used with them must be suitable for the weight and forces generated by the cargo.
