Bulk Container

Also known as: bulk container, bulk container unit, container for bulk, bulk box

A freight container specially designed or modified to transport dry or liquid bulk cargo without the need for individual packaging.

Bulk containers enable commodities such as grains, powders, pellets, chemicals, minerals, and other bulk products to be transported using standard containerized logistics networks. They are typically fitted with loading hatches, discharge outlets, liners, or hopper systems that allow cargo to be loaded and unloaded efficiently while minimizing contamination, product loss, and handling costs. Bulk containers combine the advantages of bulk transportation with the flexibility, security, and worldwide compatibility of ISO container transport.
