Acceptance Draft

Also known as: accepted draft, time acceptance

A written payment instrument where the party required to pay has formally agreed in writing to pay a stated amount on a specific future date.

An acceptance draft becomes binding once the drawee acknowledges the obligation to pay at maturity. It is commonly used in trade finance to give sellers assurance of future payment while allowing buyers time before settlement.
